2013 has been an exceptional year. Industries are quickly beginning to understand the power and flexibility inherent in IP technology, and Broadcast was no exception.
The IBC exhibition saw almost 83,000 registrations form broadcast, media and production professionals highlighted two key technologies that will both change and advance the industry: 4K(UHD) resolutions and IP as a production and content tool.
Adder Technology were delighted to fulfill a 2 hour speaking opportunity at the conference detailing the rise of IP as a workflow infrastructure and control medium. Attendees at this session came from a broad spectrum of interested companies from Post Production through to Hollywood giants. A full version of our session will be made available on-line soon, so keep checking back on the blog.
High Performance KVM Delivers the Show
Again 2013 saw the IBC exhibition and conference make use of Adder equipment. Alongside provision of extension and switching technologies to the conference sessions themselves, we were asked to provide a full fiber based Adderlink Infinity matrix to the exhibition across which the IBC InfoChannel was broadcast. If you made it to the exhibition, you would undoubtedly have seen screens and rear projection displays around the halls keeping attendees up to date with what's happening. The Infochannel is run as a live production using a range of technologies including those from RT software who deliver all the on air graphics and control. Behind the scenes, several broadcast professionals sit in temporary control room, controlling new feeds, cueing segments, developing content and directing the channel live around the exhibition.
Our U.S. offices will shortly be gearing up for the SMPTE conference in Hollywood, L.A. - If you're in the area, do take a minute to drop by and say hello. On stand will be the latest AdderLink Infinity v3.0 release which has been specifically tailored to the media industries delivering pixel perfect lossless video at 60fps over standard GbE IP.
