TitraFilm are a leading post-production picture and sound studio offering a range of technical services dedicated to production, distribution, sales and broadcast of feature films and video programs.
Challenge
The plan to expand and move the TitraFilm post-production facilities to larger premises in Paris presented TitraFilm with the opportunity to separate out the different broadcast functions into separate buildings to give staff more workspace. One building alone would be dedicated to audio production as the requirement to have French speaking voiceovers on foreign materials meant that this facility was always busy with multiple actors, directors and mixers at the same time. Between these different groups of professionals was a need to access resources including mixers and scheduling tools. As a result, TitraFilm required several other separate buildings for post-production, data labs, management and administrative functions. A high performance IP KVM solution was required to allow team collaboration and access across the multiple facilities.
"With the move to the current location at Saint Ouen, and having multiple buildings it was soon clear that the KVM matrix had to be over IP, because with the more traditional solutions we would have had to implement 2 different KVM matrix solutions’
Eric Blereau, TitraFilm
Solution
Adder’s flagship product range, the ADDERLink™ INFINITY solution, was the preferred choice because of the performance and flexibility provided. Specialist technology providers, Newnet, have a pedigree in equipping broadcasters with technology solutions, and worked with TitraFilm on the design and implementation of the system. The high performance IP KVM solution was deployed across a fibre network between the buildings to enhance the workflow and provide users with the ability to switch seamlessly between any of the network connected computers on the network from one user station.
Result
Adder’s IP KVM solution gives users across the broadcast facility the ability to remove any physical computers from the working environment and, in turn, the ability to switch between any of the network connected computers from one user station. Not only did this improve desktop ergonomics by providing a zero-noise audio production environment, it also increased workplace efficiency and collaboration because users could access any of the computers added to the IP network, regardless of which building they were situated in.
