Product features part 1

Perfect digital video, real time control: Using a spatially-lossless encoding system, with 1:1 pixel mapping, ADDERLink INFINITY provides pixel perfect and color accurate video with no artefacts. The digital video you receive is the same as the digital video leaving the remote computer.

Single CATx cable or fiber with immunity from interference: From the outset we designed ADDERLink INFINITY units around a highly robust signaling method. This vital core asset is what gives you the freedom to use the full variety of cable links that you typically find within an average structured cabling system. The result is that you can achieve reliable links, regardless of whether the cables are CAT5e, CAT6 or CAT7. The ADDERLink INFINITY dual also offers the option of up to 10km distances with fiber.

Unlimited extension distances: Extension distance is not limited to a single 100 meter cable length - If you need to extend further, simply add a 1GbE network device to achieve an additional 100 meters. This can be repeated many times. The units are also fitted with SFP cages to accept fiber optic transceivers which enable much greater extension distances.

Support for Mac Pro® (Dithered Video): Some graphics cards use a technique called dithering to give the appearance of a deeper color depth than is actually the case. As a result, dithering can significantly increase the normal video data rates. ALIF2002T has a feature called Magic Eye which supports dithering without allowing it to degrade overall link performance.

USB 2.0 with class control: Enables connection of USB devices from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers, alongside mass storage devices. For applications where security is of high importance, the system has the ability to disable the use of non-HID devices, meaning there is no need to physically block USB ports to prevent the use of mass storage devices.

EDID management: Intelligent EDID management allows the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer. This ensures perfect video display without the additional configuration.
Plug and Play: ADDERLink INFINITY extender devices are delivered in a zero config state so you can plug them in and start working on them straight away. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Redundant network operation: The units are able to detect whether the network is in operation and can automatically change to its second network port if it detects a failure.

ADDERLink INFINITY Matrix: With the addition of ADDERLink INFINITY management system (AIM) you can turn multiple point-to-point extenders into a truly scalable digital KVM matrix system that allows any workstation to link with any computer connected to the network. See the AIM datasheet for details.

If required, you can also harvest and store new EDID information from your display (Read and Store).

Power

The ALAV102T uses a USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply, thus simplifying installation. The USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 300mA.

Small footprint

The ALAV102T has been designed to use minimal space around your host systems, allowing you to neatly locate the transmitter. moulded cables also reduce cable clutter, keeping the device easily accesable at all times.

RS232 for disabling/re-enabling receiver connections

Using the onboard RS232 interface, individual transmission paths can be disconnected allowing remote screens to sleep, and wake on re-connection. This saves power and screen hours in use. Using a KVM over IP device such as the AVX5016, you can directly control up to 32 individual transmission paths from anywhere in the world.

AV-KVM Port

ALAV102T is the first ADDERLink transmitter to feature AV-KVM ports. These ports allow you to connect directly to a KVM extender. This allows you to add additional devices such as touch screens and keyboards.

Product features part 1

Dual link DVI-I with extended profile DDC EDID: The ADDERView® 4PRO-DVI (AV4PRO) features full dual link DVI video delivering up to 4 megapixel resolutions at 60Hz. The AV4PRO features DVI-I, allowing you to choose from digital or analog sources. The extended DDC (Data Display Channel) EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) profile ensures that the switched graphics card is always optimized to work with your screen. The dual link DVI capabilities enable users to work at high resolutions including 2K (2048x1080) for film production and WQXGA (2560x1600) for detailed medical imaging.

True Emulation USB2.0 technology: The AV4PRO features Adder’s advanced True Emulation USB technology. This provides an instantaneous and reliable switching action and makes keyboard hotkey and mouse switching possible. It emulates the true character of the connected devices to all the computers simultaneously, allowing you to use the extra function keys, wheels, buttons and controls that are commonly found on a modern keyboard and mouse.

Independent simultaneous device selection: The switch enables you to use the KVMA console to work on one computer whilst your USB peripherals are connected to other computers and your speakers are playing music from yet another. You can switch all connected devices to any one of the connected computers, as with most other KVM switches.

Channel selection options: The AV4PRO can be switched using selectable keyboard hotkeys, a 3 button mouse or the front panel controls on the unit. You can also use the ADDER® RC4 remote switch. These switching options allow you to rapidly reassign connected devices to any of the connected computers.

Broad USB2.0 hi-speed device support: A vast range of USB devices can be connected to the AV4PRO from non-standard human interface devices (HID) to printers and scanners. This flexibility allows you to scan a set of documents onto one computer whilst working on another and printing from yet another, all at the same time. The USB2.0 switching action has been carefully engineered to ensure maximum computer reliability when connecting and disconnecting USB devices.

Options port for control, synchronization and upgrade: An ‘Options’ port enables the AV4PRO to be remotely switched using simple ASCII codes. When the channel is switched, the same ASCII codes are echoed to the ‘Options’ port. By linking the ‘Options’ ports, two or more units can be switched in synchrony to create a multi-video head switching system. The port enables a 4 button switch unit (ADDER® RC4) to be used with the AV4PRO. The same port can also be used to upgrade the firmware.
