The ADDERLink™ INFINITY Manager (AIM) server is a control suite which transforms ADDERLink INFINITY (ALIF) extenders into a digital matrix solution. Using standard IP infrastructure it is possible to route any user station to any computer attached to the network without any compromises to video quality or control. It allows co–operative sharing of computers and multicasting of video to any destination.

Secure access and communications 
Using TLS (transport layer security) and HTTPS, communications between ADDERLink™ INFINITY (ALIF) units and the ADDERLink
INFINITY Manager (AIM), and between AIM and the outside world are all secure.

Redundant operation
For 24/7 reliability a second hot AIM can be added to ensure constant uptime and with dual NIC interfaces on every ADDERLink INFINITY unit, systems can be easily designed
for maximum resilience.

User access rights management and audit trails
Administrators can manage access rights to each device on a user by user basis either manually through the web browser or automatically using Active Directory. Reports
showing the history of devices, user logins and device connections can be viewed and exported to a CSV file or via SYSLOG.

Easy centralized management
Accessed via a web browser, the dashboard gives a real-time overview of system connections and users. Tabs enable you to navigate between settings and devices or user
sub-menus.

Control Channel and Presets connections
AIM can be used to make connections between an individual pair of transmitter and receiver devices centrally from within the management system. Using Presets, a list of
pre-defined connections, multiscreen, video wall or signage setups can be pushed with a single click.

Internationalization
The user desks can select different keyboard configurations to suite their requirements and as a global setting select the language for the OSD from a choice of over 14 languages.

On screen display at each user station
Users login and choose channel connections from an intuitive OSD similar to that of a Digital TV. Users can also use Presets to change channels for multiple screens across multiple receivers.

Remote OSD
The remote OSD allows the user to ‘push’ video and control to another station or to a video wall or projector.

Favourites and hotkey switching
Each user can select their favourite channels within the OSD and allocate a hotkey for fast switching between channels.

Choice of connection modes
Administrators can choose to give users the ability to connect in four modes: View only, shared, private or exclusive. Each permitted mode is then made available within the OSD.

Fast video and USB switching
The switching time between computers is less than 1 second to provide a quality user experience.

Multicasting
Network multicasting allows the system to share video simultaneously from one transmitter to an unlimited number of receivers. Suitable for signage, monitoring and sharing of desktops.

USB sharing
USB sharing allows multiple users to connect to and control a single computer at the same time. Each transmitter can report 12 unique USB devices (identified by VID/PID codes) but will merge devices with the same ID to allow many more.

Channels
Considered as a virtual transmitter, a channel may combine video, audio and USB from different transmitters as a single source. Ideal where audio alerts or mixed video sources are required.

Open API for 3rd party control systems
Adder Technology publishes a simple API structure to allow easy integration with other 3rd Party control systems supplied by companies like AMX, Crestron, HRS or MediaLon at a HTTP level.

LDAP integration
To help ease setup, the system has an LDAP interface so users and passwords from other systems can easily be imported.

SNMP v3 get / walk
External machines can interrogate AIM to find out the status of the ALIF network and units. SNMP v3 security is implemented, supporting AES/DES transport with MD5/SHA
authentication.

External NTP server support – NTPv4.2
Connect up to 3 NTP servers with authenticated connections using MD5 and Key ID as defined in the NTP standards. All ALIF units in an AIM network now get time using authenticated NTP from AIM.

System backups
Backups of the database can be saved internally, externally or emailed automatically. Automatic updates can be scheduled on an hourly, daily or weekly basis.

Centralized firmware upgrades
As well as managing its own firmware upgrade, AIM manages the upgrade of each device on the network and can deploy firmware to hundreds of devices at the same time, meaning a systemwide upgrade takes only a few minutes.

Easy matrix setup
Using zero config. networking, AIM automatically obtains the MAC addresses of extender devices as they are attached to the network. The administrator allocates IP addresses, names and locations so that devices are easy to identify, configure and control.

USB 2.0

Enables connection of any USB human interface device - from mice and keyboards through to touch screens, graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers. Mass storage devices and isochronous devices such as webcams and headsets can also be used. 

Transparent operation

Once connected, operation is totally transparent to the host system, the USB peripheral(s) and you, the user. There are no drivers to install and your USB devices work precisely as they did before; the only difference is that they are now up to 100 meters away from the host. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Plug and Play

ADDER C-USB-LAN extenders are delivered in a zero config state so you can plug the units in and start working with them straight away. When supplied as pairs, they are already synchronized, so they will locate each other automatically over your network. 

Integrated A.I.M. control 

The C-USB-LAN can be controlled and switched via the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (A.I.M.), or it can operate separately, as a point to point USB extender using a single length of CATx cable.

API

An API is available, supporting all functionality to which authorized 3rd party control systems can interface.

Support for audio devices

With Isochronous support the C-USB-LAN will work with USB microphones and headsets as well as web cams.

DVI-D - Digital Visual Interface (digital only): The system supports either two Single Link DVI-D resolutions to a maximum of 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz or one Dual Link to a maximum of 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz.

Digital stereo audio: The system transfers analog stereo audio (Line In/Line Out) via digital signaling between any transmitter/receiver pair. Additionally, the audio output of any transmitter can be multicast to many receivers.

Perfect digital video, real time control: Using a spatially-lossless encoding system, with 1:1 pixel mapping, ADDERLink INFINITY provides pixel perfect and color accurate video with no artefacts. The digital video you receive is the same as the digital video leaving the remote computer.

Single CATx cable or fiber with immunity from interference: From the outset we designed ADDERLink INFINITY units around a highly robust signaling method. This vital core asset is what gives you the freedom to use the full variety of cable links that you typically find within an average structured cabling system. The result is that you can achieve reliable links, regardless of whether the cables are CAT5e, CAT6 or CAT7. The ADDERLink INFINITY dual also offers the option of up to 10km distances with fiber.

Unlimited extension distances: Extension distance is not limited to a single 100 meter cable length - If you need to extend further, simply add a 1GbE network device to achieve an additional 100 meters. This can be repeated many times. The units are also fitted with SFP cages to accept fiber optic transceivers which enable much greater extension distances.

Support for Mac Pro® (Dithered Video): Some graphics cards use a technique called dithering to give the appearance of a deeper color depth than is actually the case. As a result, dithering can significantly increase the normal video data rates. ALIF2002T has a feature called Magic Eye which supports dithering without allowing it to degrade overall link performance.

USB 2.0 with class control: Enables connection of USB devices from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers, alongside mass storage devices. For applications where security is of high importance, the system has the ability to disable the use of non-HID devices, meaning there is no need to physically block USB ports to prevent the use of mass storage devices.

EDID management: Intelligent EDID management allows the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer. This ensures perfect video display without the additional configuration.
Plug and Play: ADDERLink INFINITY extender devices are delivered in a zero config state so you can plug them in and start working on them straight away. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Redundant network operation: The units are able to detect whether the network is in operation and can automatically change to its second network port if it detects a failure.

ADDERLink INFINITY Matrix: With the addition of ADDERLink INFINITY management system (AIM) you can turn multiple point-to-point extenders into a truly scalable digital KVM matrix system that allows any workstation to link with any computer connected to the network. 4 simultaneous IP users: Enables 4 simultaneous global users to connect via IP to any of the 16 connected computers.

Multi-platform capability and connectivity: USB/PS2/SUN and serial connectivity on any type of server platform.

Serial console server (SCS): ADDERView RDX can also be used as a serial console simply by attaching the CATX-CONSOLE computer access module. This gives you out of band access to command line interface (CLI) devices as well as console access to network switches.

LDAP integration plus ADDER®.Net management software: Automating the task of managing your network hardware and authenticating users against your existing LDAP infrastructure.

RS232 port: Integrated RS232 gives you the ability to control other external devices such as power management devices.

Configuration and extension: The ADDERView RDX 5000 enables you to configure 16 separate users internally with unique access privileges all of which are stored within the switch. A CATx5000 can be cascaded from the unit to enable control of 256 computers from 64 IP users.

Ecopulse circuitry: Ecopulse powers down unnecessary circuits when not required reducing power requirements. Over the life of the product this will save significant power.

Encryption and authentication: The enterprise grade integrated KVM over IP switch employs AES128 bit encryption and RSA2048 authentication ensuring your control system remains secure at all times.

Intelligent video thresholding: Adder’s innovative active de-artifacting technology automatically calculates the ideal threshold for any computer or KVM switch so that video displays are refreshed with optimum immediacy - while “screen junk” is kept to an absolute minimum.

Flexible screen scaling: Adder solutions provide point-and-click screen scaling, so that users can quickly accommodate target devices running any size display with any aspect ratio. Adder solutions also allow users to easily override scaling if and when they require unscaled pixel-to-pixel mapping.

The KVM and IP functions are provided by ADDERView and ADDERLink products, configured to work together as a single integrated system enabling local (server room) and global, IP based control of 8 or 16 computers (or more when cascaded). The ADDERView IP offers a dual-access KVM switch with On-Screen-Display control and a KVM-via-IP solution that uses HTTP Java viewers or RealVNC for highly secure connections and high performance.

The package provides one IP connection but the product maybe upgraded to provide dual simultaneous IP sessions by connecting a second AdderLink IP.
