Product features part 1

Perfect Digital Video

The ADDERLink INFINITY makes use of multiple video encoding technologies devised by Adder to deliver the very best picture available. Our encoding systems are spatially-lossless, with 1:1 pixel mapping, so the digital video you receive is the same as the digital video leaving the remote computer.

Intelligent Video Encoding

The ADDERLink INFINITY uses optimal spatially-lossless compression techniques to minimize network bandwidth usage and maximize the user experience. In most usage scenarios, with typical computer desktop applications, the ADDERLink INFINITY uses remarkably little bandwidth. When it needs to deliver full screen motion video, it has the capability to process full screen moving video in real time.

Video Colour Accuracy

The received video colour is the same as the sent colour every time. There is never a loss of clarity with the ADDERLink INFINITY. Because of this, colour controlled environments such as visual media or scientific imaging can collaborate in real time on projects, handing control across seamlessly to other group members.

USB True Emulation

The ADDERLink INFINITY enables you to connect any USB human interface device from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers. Furthermore, most other USB devices can also be attached, such as Mass Storage devices.

Network Topology

You can configure your network topology to best suit your needs. If you simply want to extend one computer Tx to one user Rx, you can do so by connecting both Tx and Rx units via a low cost CATx cable. Distance is not limited - a standard network cable will deliver IP traffic up to 100 metres away. If you want to go further, simply add a network switch to achieve an additional 100 metres. This can be done many times if you wish. The ADDERLink INFINITY network is assumed to be a private network which you manage.  As such, you can control maximum data rates generated by each Tx unit to ensure absolute stability.

Wireless Connectivity

Because of the efficient manner in which ADDERLink INFINITY constructs data for IP transmission, it is perfectly reasonable to make use of standard off-the-shelf wireless routing to connect either Rx or Tx units to your network. Typical desktop applications (word processing, spreadsheets etc.) will use very little bandwidth.

Mounting Options

The ADDERLink INFINITY units can be rack-mounted, desktop-mounted, wall-mounted or attached to the back of your monitor using an optional VESA mounting carriage.

DVI - Digital Visual Interface

The ADDERLink INFINITY features full DVI connectivity. DVI delivers native digital video signals from your computer to your digital panel (LCD for example) without the need to convert signal types from the digital domain. By delivering native digital video throughout the ADDERLink INFINITY network, you can be assured of accuracy on each and every pixel.

USB 2.0

The ADDERLink INFINITY uses USB 2.0 connectivity to interface with your keyboard and mouse, and any other peripheral you wish to use. USB is the most broadly used computer peripheral interface standard available.

Digital Stereo Audio

ADDERLink INFINITY delivers crystal clear stereo audio digitally across the network. This ensures continuous fidelity and channel separation between the Tx and Rx units, or even in Multicast environments.

Product features part 1

Full single link DVI extender

The ADDERLink X-DVI extender is designed to deliver full single link DVI digital video resolutions up to 165 MPixels per second. 165MPixels per second is the maximum data rate available on single link DVI connections, and is achieved without the need to compress data in any way. Resolutions supported by single link DVI range from 640 x 480 @ 60 Hz (25 MPixels/s) through to 3840 x 2400 @ 17Hz (164 MPixels/s).

USB keyboard and mouse extender

Alongside fully un-compressed DVI video, the ADDERLink X-DVI also delivers bidirectional USB HID data allowing you to extend keyboards and mice over 50 meters on the same CATx cable. This makes the X-DVI perfect for distributed workstations where you want to reduce environmental concerns such as heat and noise. A typical example of this would be post production suites. By centralising your workstations, you can also extend operational life-span by ensuring optimal temperature control, and minimal physical disturbance.

Single CATx distribution

ADDERLink X-DVI requires just one CATx (CAT6 recommended) cable. Other solutions available require two cables to carry DVI and DDC EDID. The X-DVI delivers this alongside USB data over a single CATx cable. Dependent upon cable type and quality, distances in excess of those quoted by ADDER may also be achieved.

DVI-D digital video

The ADDERLink X-DVI is specifically designed to carry Digital video over 50 meters. By maintaining the video in a purely digital domain, no loss of quality through D/A or A/D conversion will be experienced, ensuring the display output (LCD panel for example) is exactly the same as the signal produced by the display adapter (video card).

Extended profile DDC EDID

The ADDERLink X-DVI carries extended profile DDC EDID data from your display device to the display adapter to ensure that your system is configured to deliver optimal video performance. The extended profile DDC EDID is particularly important when extending video to high performance display devices. This is essential for professional graphics users such as post production, broadcast, architecture, graphic design, medical imaging, CAD or any other applications where display performance is critical.

Intelligent cable modelling

The X-DVI has been designed to be used in many different environments across many different types and makes of cable. To ensure the quality of your DVI signal is always optimal, ADDER have modeled a broad range of cables and integrated these models into the X-DVI. As a result, the user has greater flexibility over the CATx connection, allowing you to make use of existing CATx infrastructure.

Interface/mains power options

The ADDERLink X-DVI transmitter can be powered directly via the USB link, reducing cable clutter. If you prefer, a mains power adapter is also available.

Seamless switching by mouse control with Free-Flow Technology

Free-Flow allows users to automatically switch between target computers simply by moving the mouse pointer from screen to screen. Unlike software only variants ,no software or networking  is required on your mission critical computers for Free-Flow to work.

Multi screen Free-Flow

The system is able to support 8 monitors per computer. To enable Free-Flow on multi screen computers, a driver must be installed on the target computer.
This is available for Windows computers only.  To find out more VISIT THIS PAGE

Improved desk ergonomics

With only one keyboard and mouse required to operate 4 computer systems, the desk space can be made more ergonomically effective and reduces time for operators to multiplex to the different systems.

Hot Key, Mouse and remote switching capabilities

Hotkeys or mouse button presses can be programmed to change channels. Alternatively a remote 4 button switch (RC4) or a 3rd party control system could also initiate changes via RS232

Instant switching with True Emulation USB 2.0 technology

Adder’s True Emulation technology overcomes limitations of other KVM switches by emulating the true character of the connected devices to all the computers simultaneously. This means that you can now use the extra function keys, wheels, buttons and controls that are commonly found on modern keyboards and mice without sacrificing switching times.

Independent simultaneous device selection

Switching options enable you to use the keyboard and mouse on one computer whilst your USB peripherals and speakers are independently connected to different computers. You can of course still switch all the connected devices to any one of the connected computers.

Screen illumination module

The CCS-XB illumination module is an accessory which connects to the CCS4-USB. It gives the users the option to have a LED module positioned on each screen to indicate which screen you are currently controlling. The colour and intensity can be controlled for each screen. Product features part 1

Video performance

Industry leading resolutions of 1600 x 1200 are achievable at 200m/650ft and 1280x1024 at 300m/1000ft.

Video compensation

The ADDERLink X2 MultiScreen applies a high level of signal compensation that allows for a greatly increased range of very smooth and fine adjustments.

Brightness control

The ADDERLink X2 MultiScreen offers its own brightness correction to ensure that the image is crisp, clear and bright, regardless of the distance and is individually selectable per video head.

Audio

Digital audio transmission delivers high fidelity click-less stereo audio for speakers and microphones.

Integrated DeSkew

The ADDERLink X2 MultiScreen has integrated skew correction with a 300MHz bandwidth, meaning that it is more than powerful enough to correct the negative effects of RGB colour skew.

Emulated DDC

Unless an extender actively supports DDC, some well-known high performance video cards cannot be used at high resolutions. The ADDERLink X2 MultiScreen fully supports DDC.

Rack options

Both transmitter and receiver units can be used stand-alone or multiple units can be mounted into a X-Series 2U chassis.
