Product features part 1

Flexible and scalable: Each XDIP unit can be configured as a simple extender, distributed KVM switch or for AV distribution. Each receiver can see up to 16 sources and each transmitter can connect to up to 256 receivers.

Configurable units: The XDIP user and computer units are identical and can be configured as a transmitter or receiver. This means the solution can be built to suit the application, and should the application change, units can be re-configured to suit.

High quality video: The XDIP supports video resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz.

Power over Ethernet (PoE): Compatible with most PoE switches, the XDIP can be easily installed without the need for additional power. Many PoE switches offer redundant power options which the XDIP can leverage for enhanced reliability.

Remote control: Users can remotely control their XDIP network via a RESTful API or HTTPS web browser. By managing the receiver end points through an API, users can control the matrix. The XDIP is designed to work with any third party controller via HTTPS.

Extension distance: Extension distance is linked to the IP standard of 100m with a 40% overhead for safety. Longer distances can be achieved by routing through IP infrastructure.

Audio capability: XDIP delivers bi-directional analog audio  (16-bit sampling at 48kHz) passed between the local and remote units. Headphones are also supported (16 to 32 Ohms).

Plug and Play: The XDIP is delivered in a zero config. state so it works, without the need for drivers or software, as soon as it is connected. A simple setup wizard guides the user through set up when the device is connected.

Product features part 1
  • Digital like video: VGA resolutions of 1920 x 1200 @60Hz are achievable at 300m/1000ft. This is achievable by including a variable noise lter which overcomes issues introduced by increased gain as the length of the cable increases over 200m/650ft.
  • Video compensation: A multi-pole compensation technique is used enable superb video quality at maximum distance over a single cable. For the first time, adjustment can be made for cable type and cable length with further color skew compensation and gain adjustment to ensure crystal clear images, all from the receiver’s keyboard.
  • Local feed through port: A local feed through port is provided for audio and video so a local console can be used.
  • USB powered transmitter: The transmitter is powered via the USB port to reduce the need for external power supplies. There is an option for an external power supply if the USB port has insufficient power.
  • Dual user configurationTwo ADDERLinkTM X-USB PRO units can be linked to a single computer so two users can access the system. When using two sets of X-USB PRO modules to allow two users to access a single computer the arbitration between the users is handled by the USB sub- system of the computer. This means that both users can control the computer at exactly the same time and the resulting keyboard and mouse influences will be an amalgamation of the two inputs
  • Emulated two page DDC EDID: This extender supports full two page DDC EDID. Some high performance video cards require the two page data or they will not deliver optimal performance.
  • USB support: The X-USB PRO extends USB2.0 (low and full speed) allowing all USB compatible accessories (including isochronous devices) to be extended. The receiver unit has a built in 4 port USB hub to enable a complete desktop to be located remotely, including a keyboard, monitor, mouse, disk drive, ash memory stick, webcam, and any other device that would normally be plugged into your computer’s USB port.
  • Audio: Audio transmission delivers CD quality stereo audio for speakers.
  • Rack optionsBoth transmitter and receiver units can be used stand-alone or up to 16 units can be mounted into a 2U chassis.

Cable Guidelines
The special cables available for connections to each system are carefully constructed with braid and foil to provide excellent screening against signal emissions that could otherwise be eavesdropped. A similarly constructed cable is also available for the monitor connection (VSCD9).
The special cables already have ferrite cores fitted to assist with signal suppression. For USB peripheral connections, we strongly recommend that (if not already fitted) you attach ferrite cores to those cables to further assist with emission suppression.

  • Smartcard Reader Sharing: The ADDERView SecureSwitch Analogue Enhanced product allows you to attach a smartcard reader that can be securely shared between the connected systems. This variant also contains anti-subversion features to guard against intrusion as well as authentication to verify that the unit is genuine.
  • Hardwired port isolation: Data Diodes implemented within hard-wired electronic circuitry ensure unidirectional flow of critical data paths, safeguarding any compromised peripheral by preventing reading of information or transfer of data by another system. Peripherals are always powered down and re-initialized in the event of a change of channel, providing an additional of protection against hidden peripheral malware.
Product features part 2
  • No critical software reliance: Minimized use of software within the unit avoids the possibility of subversive reprogramming. One-time programmable storage replaces flash memory in all security critical areas of the device
  • Designed for minimal emissions and isolation of electrical crosstalk: Electromagnetic emissions are reduced and transmission of signals to other computers are prevented due to extensive shielding of the outer casing and of internal circuitry.  External probing and unauthorized internal access are prevented through the unit design, with as few apertures as possible.
