Product features part 1

Flexible and scalable: Each XDIP unit can be configured as a simple extender, distributed KVM switch or for AV distribution. Each receiver can see up to 16 sources and each transmitter can connect to up to 256 receivers.

Configurable units: The XDIP user and computer units are identical and can be configured as a transmitter or receiver. This means the solution can be built to suit the application, and should the application change, units can be re-configured to suit.

High quality video: The XDIP supports video resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz.

Power over Ethernet (PoE): Compatible with most PoE switches, the XDIP can be easily installed without the need for additional power. Many PoE switches offer redundant power options which the XDIP can leverage for enhanced reliability.

Remote control: Users can remotely control their XDIP network via a RESTful API or HTTPS web browser. By managing the receiver end points through an API, users can control the matrix. The XDIP is designed to work with any third party controller via HTTPS.

Extension distance: Extension distance is linked to the IP standard of 100m with a 40% overhead for safety. Longer distances can be achieved by routing through IP infrastructure.

Audio capability: XDIP delivers bi-directional analog audio  (16-bit sampling at 48kHz) passed between the local and remote units. Headphones are also supported (16 to 32 Ohms).

Plug and Play: The XDIP is delivered in a zero config. state so it works, without the need for drivers or software, as soon as it is connected. A simple setup wizard guides the user through set up when the device is connected.

  • Seamless switching by mouse control with Free-Flow technology. Free-Flow allows users to automatically switch between target computers by moving the mouse pointer from screen to screen.
  • Instant switching with USB True Emulation. Adder’s USB True Emulation technology overcomes limitations of other KVM switches by emulating the true character of connected devices, to all computers, simultaneously. This means the operator can use extra function keys, wheels, buttons and controls, without sacrificing switching times.
  • Independent simultaneous device selection. Switching options allow operators to use the keyboard and mouse on one computer while having USB peripherals and speakers independently connected to different computer(s). It is still possible to switch all the connected devices to any one of the connected computers at any time.
  • Keep-alive function. Users have the option to choose which computers ‘stay alive’, preventing target computers from sleeping while not in use, useful in situations where rapid switching is required.
  • Multi monitor Free-Flow. The system is able to support up to 16 monitors per computer. To enable Free-Flow on multimonitor computers, a driver must be installed on the target computer. (Windows only).
  • Audio mixing. Users can choose which audio source to hear, regardless of which computer is being operated.
  • External control options. The unit can be controlled and switched via hotkeys, mouse clicks, Ethernet or RS232. With the open API, the unit can be easily set up and integrated into third party systems.
  • Screen illumination module. The CCS-XB expansion module is an optional accessory that identifies which screen is being controlled using an LED indicator. The color and intensity can be controlled for each screen. A maximum of ten LED indicators can be supported.
  • Redundant power. For mission critical applications, dual power inlets are available.
  • Copy and Paste. Copy and paste up to 200KB of formatted text between directly connected Windows computers. Encrypted data setting available. A driver must be installed on each computer.

Resolutions and cable lengths

The maximum resolutions achievable are:
1920 x 1200 x 60Hz at 200m
1280 x 1024 x 60Hz at 300m.

Power

The CATX DisplayPort CAM uses the USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply and thus simplifying installation. Therefore the USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 500mA. Power is not taken from the DisplayPort connector

Mini DisplayPort version available

Some computers, servers and graphics cards (Apple Mac Pro and ATI Radion graphics cards) come with mini DisplayPort connectors as these are smaller than the standard connector. A version of the CAM is available with Mini DisplayPort connectors.

EDID display information

The module will check during power up the EDID information available from the KVM switch or extender that is connected to the monitor and passes this back to the computer.

USB

The CAM supports low speed (1Mb/s) HID USB devices only.

Audio

2 channel CD Quality audio is supported via a 3.5mm jack plug. Audio is not available through the display port connector.

Product description

The ADDER® CATx CONSOLE Serial CAM provides serial connectivity to your target machines. Serial interfaces can be used for server control or power control where serial configuration is available.

The ADDER CATx CONSOLE Serial CAM only works from the ADDERView CATxIP 5000. Used in conjunction with the ADDERView® CATxIP 5000, it can be used as a serial console (sometime known as a terminal server). This gives you out of band access to target command line interface (CLI) as well as console access to network switches.

ADDER CATx Dual CAM

ADDER CATx Dual CAM

One liner

Share a single computer between two sets of peripheral devices

Banner image
Product description

The CATx Dual Computer Access Modules (CAMs) are highly compact devices that allow you to share a single computer between two sets of peripheral devices. In simple terms the CAM can be viewed as a combined video splitter and peripheral hub. This is useful for mixing local and remote stations or mixing KVM with extension or signage systems.

The module connects to the video, USB, audio and RS232 ports of your computer and then connects via CAT 5, 5e or 6 cabling to the ADDERView® CATx KVM switches and/or ADDER extender receivers (either ADDERLink® X100 or X200), each of which can be located up to 300 meters from the module. Your video display, keyboard, mice and speakers are linked to the remote devices.

The CATX-USB-DA variant is not fitted with audio or serial ports but is otherwise identical to the CATX-USBA-DA model.

Product features part 1

Resolutions and cable lengths

The maximum resolutions achievable are:
1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz at 100m.
1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz at 200m.
1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz at 300m.

Audio

Two channel CD quality audio is supported.

Absolute mouse mode support

Supports absolute mouse mode when used in conjunction with supporting equipment.

EDID display information

The module contains a default set of EDID information that supports display resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz. In addition, the module will check during power up whether alternative EDID information is available from the KVM switch or extender that is connected to port A. If required, you can also harvest and store new EDID information from your display (Read and Store).

Power

The CATx Dual CAM uses a USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply and thus simplifying installation. Therefore the USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 300mA.

User arbitration

Control of the host computer is arbitrated by the module on a first come, first served basis. At the moment that a key is pressed or a mouse is moved by a user, the keyboard and mouse of the other user are temporarily locked-out (the video images remain). The keyboard indicators of the locked-out user then begin to flash to confirm their status. After two seconds of inactivity from the user currently in control, the module returns to its idle condition and re-instates the keyboard indicators of the locked-out user.

RS232 for disabling/re-enabling receiver connections

When required, a user of one remote link can disable (and re-enable) the other remote link using serial port commands.

From one of the remote keyboards, a terminal program on the computer can be used to send the appropriate character to the COM port that has been allocated to the module.
