USB 2.0

Enables connection of any USB human interface device - from mice and keyboards through to touch screens, graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers. Mass storage devices and isochronous devices such as webcams and headsets can also be used.

Transparent operation

Once connected, operation is totally transparent to the host system, the USB peripheral(s) and you, the user. There are no drivers to install and your USB devices work precisely as they did before; the only difference is that they are now up to 100 meters away from the host. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Plug and Play

ADDER C-USB-LAN extenders are delivered in a zero config state so you can plug the units in and start working with them straight away. When supplied as pairs, they are already synchronized, so they will locate each other automatically over your network.

Integrated A.I.M. control

The C-USB-LAN can be controlled and switched via the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (A.I.M.), or it can operate separately, as a point to point USB extender using a single length of CATx cable.

API

An API is available, supporting all functionality to which authorized 3rd party control systems can interface.

Support for audio devices

With Isochronous support the C-USB-LAN will work with USB microphones and headsets as well as web cams.

Product features part 1

Flexible and scalable: Each XDIP unit can be configured as a simple extender, distributed KVM switch or for AV distribution. Each receiver can see up to 16 sources and each transmitter can connect to up to 256 receivers.

Configurable units: The XDIP user and computer units are identical and can be configured as a transmitter or receiver. This means the solution can be built to suit the application, and should the application change, units can be re-configured to suit.

High quality video: The XDIP supports video resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz.

Power over Ethernet (PoE): Compatible with most PoE switches, the XDIP can be easily installed without the need for additional power. Many PoE switches offer redundant power options which the XDIP can leverage for enhanced reliability.

Remote control: Users can remotely control their XDIP network via a RESTful API or HTTPS web browser. By managing the receiver end points through an API, users can control the matrix. The XDIP is designed to work with any third party controller via HTTPS.

Extension distance: Extension distance is linked to the IP standard of 100m with a 40% overhead for safety. Longer distances can be achieved by routing through IP infrastructure.

Audio capability: XDIP delivers bi-directional analog audio  (16-bit sampling at 48kHz) passed between the local and remote units. Headphones are also supported (16 to 32 Ohms).

Plug and Play: The XDIP is delivered in a zero config. state so it works, without the need for drivers or software, as soon as it is connected. A simple setup wizard guides the user through set up when the device is connected.

ADDER CATx Dual CAM

Product title

ADDER CATx Dual CAM

One liner

Share a single computer between two sets of peripheral devices

Banner image
Product description

The CATx Dual Computer Access Modules (CAMs) are highly compact devices that allow you to share a single computer between two sets of peripheral devices. In simple terms the CAM can be viewed as a combined video splitter and peripheral hub. This is useful for mixing local and remote stations or mixing KVM with extension or signage systems.

The module connects to the video, USB, audio and RS232 ports of your computer and then connects via CAT 5, 5e or 6 cabling to the ADDERView® CATx KVM switches and/or ADDER extender receivers (either ADDERLink® X100 or X200), each of which can be located up to 300 meters from the module. Your video display, keyboard, mice and speakers are linked to the remote devices.

The CATX-USB-DA variant is not fitted with audio or serial ports but is otherwise identical to the CATX-USBA-DA model.

Product specifications part 1

Product features part 1

Resolutions and cable lengths

The maximum resolutions achievable are:
1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz at 100m.
1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz at 200m.
1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz at 300m.

Audio

Two channel CD quality audio is supported.

Absolute mouse mode support

Supports absolute mouse mode when used in conjunction with supporting equipment.

EDID display information

The module contains a default set of EDID information that supports display resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz. In addition, the module will check during power up whether alternative EDID information is available from the KVM switch or extender that is connected to port A. If required, you can also harvest and store new EDID information from your display (Read and Store).

Power

The CATx Dual CAM uses a USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply and thus simplifying installation. Therefore the USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 300mA.

User arbitration

Control of the host computer is arbitrated by the module on a first come, first served basis. At the moment that a key is pressed or a mouse is moved by a user, the keyboard and mouse of the other user are temporarily locked-out (the video images remain). The keyboard indicators of the locked-out user then begin to flash to confirm their status. After two seconds of inactivity from the user currently in control, the module returns to its idle condition and re-instates the keyboard indicators of the locked-out user.

RS232 for disabling/re-enabling receiver connections

When required, a user of one remote link can disable (and re-enable) the other remote link using serial port commands.

From one of the remote keyboards, a terminal program on the computer can be used to send the appropriate character to the COM port that has been allocated to the module.

Auto sensing digital or analogue video interface

The use of DVI-I interfaces overcomes the limitations of analogue video and allows for greatly improved video update and pixel-perfect performance. However, where no digital feed is available the ADDERLink IP Gold will auto sense and support an analogue input.

Audio-via-IP

The ADDERLink IP Gold enables CD quality audio signals to be fed from the target computer to the remote user via IP. Essential for administration tools and applications where sound or audible alarms are used.

Dual power connections

To ensure maximum uptime and connection stability the ADDERLink IP Gold has dual power supply facilities allowing for both mains and UPS supply.

USB keyboard and mouse connections

Many PCs and multi platform environments demand that USB is used for keyboard and mouse connections. The ADDERLink IP Gold provides this for both the local console and computer/KVM connection. PS/2 keyboard and mouse connections are also supported.

Virtual media support (via USB)

To transfer files from the remote user to the controlled computer, the ADDERLink IP Gold has been engineered to act as a conduit through which data can be passed. Files can be transferred via IP on to the ADDERLink IP Gold and on to the target computer by means of a virtual media port (USB).

High performance video

Hardware improvements and a significant increase in processor speed means that the video update performance is greatly increased and Adder’s advanced anti-aliasing strategy further reduces screen degradation when colours on the screen change very slowly.

Continued support on this product is still available to our existing customers, please contact our Support Team or your local Adder Office for more information.

The KVM and IP functions are provided by ADDERView and ADDERLink products, configured to work together as a single integrated system enabling local (server room) and global, IP based control of 8 or 16 computers (or more when cascaded). The ADDERView IP offers a dual-access KVM switch with On-Screen-Display control and a KVM-via-IP solution that uses HTTP Java viewers or RealVNC for highly secure connections and high performance.

The package provides one IP connection but the product maybe upgraded to provide dual simultaneous IP sessions by connecting a second AdderLink IP.
