Product features part 1

Compact, easy to mount

The ADDERLink C-USB modules are designed to quickly and easily blend into your existing configuration. Each module measures only 87 x 57 x 30mm and they feature side slots to allow them to be cable-tied to most surfaces.

Complete support for your USB devices

To ensure that ADDERLink C-USB provides maximum flexibility, we have worked hard to ensure that it supports every type of USB 2.0 or 1.1 device. So whichever transfer modes your USB devices need to use, you’re covered. For example:

Video devices      isochronous mode
Keyboards            interrupt mode
Hard drives          bulk transfer mode

Plug-and-Play, transparent operation

Once connected, operation is totally transparent to the host system, the USB peripheral(s) and you, the user. There are no drivers to install and your USB devices work precisely as they did before; the only difference is that they are now up to 100 meters away from the host.

Usable with all operating systems

The AdderLink C-USB modules are entirely independent of any operating system and are thus compatible with
them all.

Flexible power

The whole system can be powered from either end. Thanks to a clever piece of electronic design, you can choose to connect the supplied mains power adapter to either the local or remote modules, as is most convenient for your installation. Either way, a full 500mA of current is made available to your USB peripheral. The power adapter is fully auto-sensing so that it can adapt to any mains input from 100 to 240VAC.

Easy to understand indicators

Each module is adorned with a single green indicator. Only when the power, the cable link and the host USB connection are all valid will the green indicator on each module illuminate.

Built to last

Adder Technology have a well-earned reputation for creating products that perform well and stay the course. AdderLink C-USB modules are no exception and feature tough, yet lightweight rubberized ABS enclosures to ensure they can easily withstand everyday treatment. The internal components and external connectors too are selected for their reliability in addition to their performance characteristics.

Product features part 1

Resolutions and cable lengths

Typical resolutions achievable include:

1080p:1920 x 1200 x 60Hz at 100m.

Audio

CD quality stereo audio is supported.

EDID display information

The module contains a default set of EDID information that supports display resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. In addition, the module will check during power up whether alternative EDID information is available from the KVM switch or extender that is connected to port A. If required, you can also harvest and store new EDID information from your display (Read and Store).

Power

The ALAV102T uses a USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply, thus simplifying installation. The USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 300mA.

Small footprint

The ALAV102T has been designed to use minimal space around your host systems, allowing you to neatly locate the transmitter. moulded cables also reduce cable clutter, keeping the device easily accesable at all times.

RS232 for disabling/re-enabling receiver connections

Using the onboard RS232 interface, individual transmission paths can be disconnected allowing remote screens to sleep, and wake on re-connection. This saves power and screen hours in use. Using a KVM over IP device such as the AVX5016, you can directly control up to 32 individual transmission paths from anywhere in the world.

AV-KVM Port

ALAV102T is the first ADDERLink transmitter to feature AV-KVM ports. These ports allow you to connect directly to a KVM extender. This allows you to add additional devices such as touch screens and keyboards.

Product features part 1

Full single link DVI extender

The ADDERLink X-DVI extender is designed to deliver full single link DVI digital video resolutions up to 165 MPixels per second. 165MPixels per second is the maximum data rate available on single link DVI connections, and is achieved without the need to compress data in any way. Resolutions supported by single link DVI range from 640 x 480 @ 60 Hz (25 MPixels/s) through to 3840 x 2400 @ 17Hz (164 MPixels/s).

USB keyboard and mouse extender

Alongside fully un-compressed DVI video, the ADDERLink X-DVI also delivers bidirectional USB HID data allowing you to extend keyboards and mice over 50 meters on the same CATx cable. This makes the X-DVI perfect for distributed workstations where you want to reduce environmental concerns such as heat and noise. A typical example of this would be post production suites. By centralising your workstations, you can also extend operational life-span by ensuring optimal temperature control, and minimal physical disturbance.

Single CATx distribution

ADDERLink X-DVI requires just one CATx (CAT6 recommended) cable. Other solutions available require two cables to carry DVI and DDC EDID. The X-DVI delivers this alongside USB data over a single CATx cable. Dependent upon cable type and quality, distances in excess of those quoted by ADDER may also be achieved.

DVI-D digital video

The ADDERLink X-DVI is specifically designed to carry Digital video over 50 meters. By maintaining the video in a purely digital domain, no loss of quality through D/A or A/D conversion will be experienced, ensuring the display output (LCD panel for example) is exactly the same as the signal produced by the display adapter (video card).

Extended profile DDC EDID

The ADDERLink X-DVI carries extended profile DDC EDID data from your display device to the display adapter to ensure that your system is configured to deliver optimal video performance. The extended profile DDC EDID is particularly important when extending video to high performance display devices. This is essential for professional graphics users such as post production, broadcast, architecture, graphic design, medical imaging, CAD or any other applications where display performance is critical.

Intelligent cable modelling

The X-DVI has been designed to be used in many different environments across many different types and makes of cable. To ensure the quality of your DVI signal is always optimal, ADDER have modeled a broad range of cables and integrated these models into the X-DVI. As a result, the user has greater flexibility over the CATx connection, allowing you to make use of existing CATx infrastructure.

Interface/mains power options

The ADDERLink X-DVI transmitter can be powered directly via the USB link, reducing cable clutter. If you prefer, a mains power adapter is also available.

When transmitting video across CAT5e and CAT6 cable, sometimes the colours making up the image can become separated. ADDER's Skew compensation module uniquely enables the user to adjust the Red, Green and Blue Channels and compensate for cable length differences. Using simple dipswitches, users can configure the unit using the information provided from the reporting function on the X-Series KVM modules, or manually configure the unit using Red, Green, Blue and distance dipswitches.

Product features part 1

Enables reliable transmission across the all twisted pair cables.

Removes colour separation introduced by some twisted pair cable.

Easy configuration with simple dip switches.

Compatible with all ADDERLink products.

Compatible with all the latest twisted pair cable media.

Can be used at the local or remote end of the cable.

The X-SKEW may be neatly rack mounted in the X-series 19-inch rack mount chassis.

Robust metal case ensures good shielding and video quality.

19 inch rack mount kit available.

Totally transparent to the user, so the X-series advanced feature set is fully functional.
